JB (Unofficial) Southern Section Rankings for January 16, 2019

Coach Jon Briggs of Paloma Valley High School in conjunction with the California Girls Wrestling Podcast has released the second edition of their rankings for the Southern Section. I will refer to them as the JB (unofficial) Southern Section rankings from this point forward

The original PDFs contain a ton of interesting information for the data-obsessed fan. You can find links those files below:

I have limited myself to posting the ranked wrestlers’ names (changing the order to first name, last name) and schools. One thing I have added is their previous ranking – located in parenthesis.

I want to congratulate all the wrestlers that made the list. I also want to thank Coach Briggs and the crew from the California Girls Wrestling Podcast for putting in the hard work to get this together. I forward to the next edition.

  1. I have a h2h from last week that should change the rankings in 116#. HM Giovanna Loza from Vista del Lago beat #8 Ashlee Fragoso from Moreno Valley in a h2h dual 12-5 dec. If this isn’t the right place to share this please let me know.

  2. Luis,
    HM @121 Teyah Gutierrez (Redondo) earlier in the year pinned Long Beach Poly’s 121# (who is ranked 12th)

    {I notice some girls have their year listed; so –> Teyah is a Frosh}

    Where would I contact Jon Briggs at?

    *oh – and Allysa Nocum (Mira Costa); might want to check with Coach Chaney, I believe she cut to 121#; not positive.

    1. If you email me using the contact form. I will be happy to provide you with the information I have. It’s my policy not to contact people off their comment information to respect privacy. Thank you for understanding.
