University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to Add Women’s Wrestling

WCWA will grow to 50 programs for the 2019-2020 season

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, has announced that it will add women’s wrestling as a varsity sport during the 2019-2020 season. The school is a public university granting associate, baccalaureate and master’s degrees, as well as doctoral degrees in audiology. The 400 acre campus has a staff of 544 and its student body is made up of 9,643 coeds. In athletics, UWSP is an NCAA Division III school.

Congratulations Team California 2018 Fargo Junior Team Champions

In the junior version of the Fargo Freestyle National Championships, like in the cadet edition, 28 states fielded teams. Team California, once again, bested the rest of the teams with a total of 75 team points. This time around it was not New York that took second place but Washington with 62 team points.

In individual results, Team California duplicated their All-American count, from the cadet tournament, with 19 placers out of 66 wrestlers, including one champion and two finalists.

I should have posted this yesterday, so my apologies for the delay. This morning, the 65 members of Junior Team California took to the mats, each wrestler-girl hoping to earn a 2018 Marine Corps Women’s Junior National Championship. Congratulations to the Cadet Team California 2018 Fargo Team Champions

In a national tournament where 28 states fielded teams, the cadets of team California bested the rest of the teams with a total of 79 team points. New York. the second place team was a good 17 points behind with 62.

In individual results, Team California had 19 placers out of 33 wrestlers, including one champion and three finalists.

The Junior team will see action starting Tuesday, July 17, and we will undoubtedly see quite a few, if not all, of the cadet team members, compete in that age-group also. Until then, join me in congratulating cadet team California, the … Read more

Good Luck to the 2018 California Cadet Team!

Starting tomorrow, July 14, at 7 AM Pacific time, the 32 members of the young cadet Team California will take the first step of what they each hope will be a journey toward a 2018 Marine Corps Women’s Cadet National Championship. Like in previous years, the championships will be taking place at the Fargodome in Fargo, North Dakota.
