The results for the 2015 CIF SS Southern Division Girls Wrestling Qualifier can be looked at here: 2015 SS Southern Division Qualifier. You may notice that this year the number of competitors was down in comparison to last year. That is because this year 2 new divisions were added to the Qualifier tournaments. A large number of wrestlers went from Southern Division to the new Central Division.

2009 Girls Southern Regional Wrestling Tournament Results

Before CIF sanctioned an official state championship tournament, a group of coaches with the foresight to believe in the future girls’ wrestling were organizing tournaments that allowed the girls to show-off their skills.

There weren’t enough girls participating in the sport for each section to have its own championship, but the organizers of the “Unofficial State Championships” came up with a way to allow the girls to earn a ticket to the event. They divided California into two regions, north and south (the rivalry between the two regions already existed and this division just added a new aspect)
